Anne DeGheest worked closely with the founding team of Pyxis to redefine a drug dispensing system for hospitals. She was instrumental in helping the founders modify and improve on their initial concept and product design to improve nursing satisfaction and decrease medication errors in hospitals. Pyxis is now the established and dominant market leader of this newly created $ 1 billion annual market. Pyxis went public in 1992 and was acquired by Cardinal for around $1 billion in 1996 and later spun off as part of Carefusion.
